From the Amazon Waters of Venezuela, this we are happy to bring our Fancy Pleco enthusiast this splendid new specimen.
We have never encountered this pleco before, nor have our associates, and after showing it to quite a few experts, the initial conclusion is that this unmistakable Pleco variety does not yet have a proper scientific name or even an L number! We would be glad to hear what you have to say about it. Some suggested a couple of L numbers, but were clearly incorrect and not the same Pleco as shown here.
With beautiful Veil Tail similar to the Carachama Mama Pleco, but a body and a pattern more reminiscent of a King Tiger L066, this is truly a beautiful fish. Amazingly, unlike many of the similar pattern Hypancistrus, this species seems to be even more striking due to its larger size. We have in our batch 5 to 6 inch individuals, as well as smaller 2-3 inch fish. They are healthy and active in our tanks, eating live balckworms, some dry flake food and occasional slize of cucumber. They seem to like to scavenge, the glass, rocks and even our sponge filters for other algae and microfoods.
Hard put a value on a "collector's item" like this beautiful rare Pleco, of which we may not see any again. Our stock is very limited, but as always at River Wonders, we bring you the exotic rare species of the world at an affordable price. This is a limited time offer, on a very limited stock.
