Panaque cochliodon (for years confused with, Panaque suttonorum and panaque suttoni)
This unmatchable Pleco was thought lost to the Hobby due to pollution in its habitat. Now seen extremely rarely, we are happy to have some in extremely limited stock.
Not many words are needed to describe the uniqueness of this plecostomus. Never widely available, it was often misclassified in the early years, but it won the hearts of many true pleco enthusiasts for its striking cold gray and sharp body, and its electric blue eyes.
Unfortunately, New industrial centers near its habitat that dump chemicals directly into the water dwindled its numbers, and its availability to the hobby.
River Wonders has found an alternate habitat where these beautiful Plecos still thrive.
Care:
Once acclimated, this pleco is rather hardy and easy to keep. Conditions are very similar to other panaques.
Feeding should be vegetable based (zucchini, cucumbers) as well as tablet or pellet food. Its affinity for meaty foods is still uknown, as are the blue eyed pleco's requirements for breeding.
The Blue-Eyed Pleco seems to be of moderate temperament, but still (like other panaques) territorial.
TWO INDIVIDUALS IN STOCK, OVER 18 INCHES!!! WE HAVE NEVER SEEN SUCH INDIVIDUALS
