This beautiful and ancent species is rarer than its silver cousin, and much sought after. The Black Arowana is extremely difficult to keep when it is young, (thus its greater scarcity), needing precise water conditions that exist in its Amazonian environment.
Once a juvenile however, (4 inches or so), it becomes just as hardy as its silver cousin, feeding actively and tolerating a wider PH range.
